Calculus II - Integration





This module is aimed at students who are taking their second course in calculus and have taken prior calculus courses that included differentiation.


The following is a list of the specific topics this module covers.

  1. Fundamental Theorem of Integral Calculus:
      Definition, sums, limits, area under the curve.

  2. Definite Integrals:
      Simple area problems.

  3. Indefinite Integrals:
      Simple motion problems.

  4. Simple Techniques of Integration:
      u-Substitution method, trigonometric functions, logarithmic functions, exponential functions.

  5. Advanced Techniques of Integration:
      Integration by parts, partial fractions, trigonometric substitution.

  6. Polar Coordinates:
      Polar curves, intersection of polar curves, area under polar curves.

  7. Other Topics:
      Improper integrals, introduction to infinite series, l'Hopital's rule.

  8. Questions: 1,000 practice questions with explained solutions.



Pre-requisites for this Module


This module requires prior knowledge on differentiation such as that contained in the Calculus I module .


This module is a pre-requisite for the Calculus III module on multi-variate calculus.
